The first ten amendments of the U.S. Constitution

freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of petition the government.

The right to keep and bear arms (to have guns).

No quartering( housing) soldiers in times of peace.

Officers cannot search or take a person or their property without permission, probable cause (a good reason),or a search warrant.

Right to grand jury indictment for serious crimes. No double jeopardy( you cannot be tried twice for the same crime).Self-incrimination (you do not have to testify against yourself).

right to know the charges against you, an attorney, speedy trial by a jury of your peers, and to confront witnesses against you.

Right to trial by jury in civil cases( money owed).

Right to bail and no excessive fines or cruel and unusual punishment.

Any rights not mentioned in the constitution belonged to the people.

Any powers the Constitution does not specifically give to the federal government belongs to the states and the people.

Any change or addition to the Constitution
