There are two kinds of trees, coniferous trees and deciduous trees. Deciduous trees lose their leaves in the fall, but coniferous trees have needles and stay green all year. They both use energy from the sun to survive.

To plant a tree you need to first get a tree seed. Then dig a hole in the ground and set the seed in the hole. Next cover the hole up with dirt. Make sure you water the seed everyday. Soon your tree will sprout.

Forest are environments that have trees. Forest have moist soil. and receive 30-60in of precipitation each year. Many animals live in the forest like bears, bees, and woodpeckers.

During a drought a forest doesn't receive enough rain. Without enough water many plants die. Without enough plants to eat many animals also die.

While in the forest, a hiker could run into a bear. To protect themselves from bears, many hikers carry bear spray. If the hiker sees a bear they can spray it to scare it away.
