GIF stands for Graphic Interface Form

JPEG means Joint Photographic Experts and is a Lossy type of a graphic

Converting GIFs to JPEG should be done with great care because the results can compromise your image quality

You do not need to know where your image came from. Conversions do not degrade the quality of the image.

BMP stands for Bitmap format and is the Windows Standard Image Format.

EPS are Encapsulated PostScript Formats. and are used heavily for printing to postscript output devices.

RIFF stands for Raster Interface Filter Format.
